Travel & Bookings Update
Thompson Travel Holidays Blog
Update Monday 8 June 2020
I trust all of you are well and looking forward to a bit more freedom and 'normality' .... with caution.
RE-OPENING
I am pleased to advise you, that unless we receive different instructions, our office will re-open on Wednesday 1 July 2020. We will operate on reduced opening hours until we establish the best way to fully re-open considering new arrangements. We will be open Monday to Friday 11am -3pm. We may take appointments outside these hours for key workers and NHS staff, if necessary.
To facilitate the re-opening we will only allow limited customers in our shop at any time (max 2 people per booking) and staff will also have staggered working hours. We will be arranging telephone and online video appointments initially. Updates on this will be published before end of June.
THANK YOU
In the meantime, thank you for your patience and understanding. This has been a very difficult few months and I must give credit to my team for all their dedication and commitment when they have had to work from home around families and under immense pressure. They have also periodically been furloughed so working twice as hard when they have returned.
TRAVELLING SOON
If you are due to travel soon, you should have been contacted by a team member. If not, please email sharon@thompsontvl.co.uk or call 02838 394489 between 11am -3pm. As lines are diverted to one phone it may take some time to get back to you. E-mailing is quicker for an enquiry.

GETTING IN TOUCH
Please do not send us messages on Facebook to call you, as these may not be seen for a few days. This is only being used for new holiday enquiries. We are now receiving around 20 new enquiries per day, so we do not want your message to be lost.
If your holiday balance is due, we will be in touch with you in the next few days.
REFUNDS
If a refund is possible on your cancelled trip, we will have been in touch. Refunds are taking longer for no other reason than the vastness of the worldwide task. I am pleased to say they are starting to come in and we have been informing you accordingly.
We have no information on travel beyond the next few weeks, unless we have contacted you about a specific supplier and will probably not know much more until end of June, but if your travel has been affected and we already know anything, we will contact you with options.
We have dealt with over 800 customers these last few months and over 80% of you have moved to a future holiday.
Thank you to everyone who has added to our own tours and booked new holidays in the last few weeks. Israel, The Somme, Caribbean and Summer 2021 holidays have been the top destinations for new enquiries and new bookings.
I can only apologise if we have not been in touch as much as we normally would, but getting through to suppliers, airlines and tour operators is a very difficult task right now and takes up most of the working days.
As soon as we get back into the office, everything will be much easier to manage.
Take care and we look forward to seeing you all again.
Regards
Sharon
